Exposition of Holy Relics at “Our Lady of Damascus” – Valletta

Relics of SaintsWith the blessing of His Grace the Most Reverend Mgr. Abram (Garmeliya), Metropolitan of the Western European Diocese of the Orthodox Patriarchate of Georgia, the Holy Relics of several Saints, together with documents testifying their authenticity, have recently been entrusted to the same Western European Diocese of the Patriarchate of Georgia.

On the morning of the 23rd November, 2013, on a feast day of the Great Martyr St George, these Holy Relics will be exposed for the veneration of the faithful in the Greek-Catholic Church of “Our Lady of Damascus” in Valletta. In this venerable Church, at 10.00 a.m., the Divine Liturgy of St John Chrysostom (Holy Eucharist) will be celebrated by the pastor of the St. John Chrysostom Georgian Orthodox Parish of Valletta, Father Kirion (Machaidze).

The Holy Relics exposed are of the following Saints:
1. St Aurelius Ambrosius, Archbishop of Milan (+397)
2. St Andrew, Apostle and Protokletos (the “First-Called”) (1st century AD)
3. St Luke, the Holy Apostle and Evangelist (1st century AD)
4. St Nicholas the Wonderworker, Archbishop of Myra (+345)
5. St John the Baptist and Prophet (1st century AD)
6. St George the Great Martyr, the Victorious (+303)
7. St Pantaleon the Great Martyr and Healer (+305)
8. St Spyridon, Bishop of Trimythous (+348)
9. St John Chrysostom (+407)
10. St Anthony the Great (+356)
11. St Paul of Thebes, the First Hermit (+341)
12. St Barbara, the Great Martyr (+306)
13. St Natalia, the Martyr of Nicomedia (+305-311)
14. St John the Merciful, Patriarch of Alexandria (7th century AD)
15. St Basil the Great, Bishop of Caesarea (+379)
16. St Lazarus “of the Four Days in the Tomb”, Bishop of Kiteia on Cyprus (1st century AD)
17. St Martha (1st century AD)
