“For zeal for your house has consumed me …”
(Psalm 69: 9)
The present Church was built about sixty years ago and, therefore, needs regular maintenance. Moreover, situated as it is in one of Valletta’s busiest streets, the Church’s facade and its external features are constantly exposed to very serious traffic pollution.
Your kind donation will go towards the running and maintenance costs of the Church. Over the past two years, in particular, the Church, and the adjacent building serving as the parish priest’s residence and offices, have undergone much needed structural repairs. Moreover, the Church’s artistic bronze door, adorned with panels depicting various scenes from the Old and New Testaments, has been repaired and restored to its original beauty, much to the satisfaction of the parishioners. Recently (November 2012), the iron fencing surrounding the Church has been dismantled for derusting, galvanization and painting. It should be ready by the end of 2012. Needless to say that such important works are very costly and therefore your contributions will be most welcome.
Apart from the funds needed for the up-keep of the Church, the Parish priest is often approached by needy persons, particularly immigrants from Africa, asking him for both spiritual and material (especially financial) support.
